Bisquick Baking Mix Substitute

You can make tons of recipes that call for Bisquick with this simple baking mix, saving you time and money.

Yield

about 10 cups

Ingredients

8 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups nonfat dry milk powder
1/4 cup baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 cups solid vegetable shortening

Directions

In a large bowl, combine flour, milk, baking powder, and salt. With a pastry blender or two knives, cut in shortening until the mixture looks like coarse cornmeal and the shortening is evenly distributed. Use in place of 'Bisquick' in any recipe.

Storage

Store in tightly closed covered container in a dark, cool place.
