Berry Delicious Brownies

Luscious rich saucepan brownies are topped with fudge sauce, berries and whipped cream to create a dessert that's as pretty as it is delicious.

Brownie Ingredients

3/4 cup butter
3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened baking chocolate
1 1/4 cups granulated (white) sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 eggs
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, if desired

Strawberry Ingredients

2 1/2 cups sliced strawberries*
1 tablespoon granulated (white) sugar

Topping Ingredients

2/3 cup hot fudge ice cream topping, warmed
sweetened whipped cream

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease bottom only of an 8-inch square baking pan with Pan Release or baking spray with flour.

Combine butter and chocolate in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter and chocolate are melted (5 to 7 minutes). Stir in 1 1/4 cups sugar until well mixed. Stir in flour and eggs until well mixed; stir in walnuts. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake for 23 to 28 minutes or until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely. Cut into squares.

Meanwhile, combine strawberries and 1 tablespoon sugar in small bowl.

To serve, place brownies onto individual serving plates. Top each with 1 tablespoon warm fudge sauce and about 1/4 cup strawberries. Dollop with sweetened whipped cream, if desired.
