Caramel Nut Brownies

36 brownies

1 cup butter or margarine
4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk-chocolate chips
12 ounces caramels
1/8 cup peanut butter, smooth
1/2 cup evaporated milk

Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan using Pan Release or cooking spray.

In a saucepan, melt butter and unsweetened chocolate. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in flour and mix well. Pour half of mixture into the greased pan. Bake for 6 minutes.

While the brownies are baking, melt the caramels, peanut butter and evaporated milk. Stir frequently until melted. Remove brownies from oven and pour caramel mixture over top. Sprinkle chips and nuts over top. Pour remaining brownie mix over top and bake for 15 minutes. Allow to cool before cutting.
