Chocolate Chip Blonde Brownies

2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 cups packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 (12 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips (2 cups)


Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease the bottom only of a 13 x 9-inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray.

In large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, vanilla and eggs with electric mixer on medium-high speed until blended. On low speed, beat in flour, baking powder and salt until soft dough forms. Spread in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over top.

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool completely, about 3 hours. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
