Creamy Coffee Filled Brownies

Top off fudgie brownies with a perky coffee cream cheese layer and deep, dark chocolate.


16 brownies


1 box Betty Crocker® chocolate chunk premium brownie mix
water, vegetable oil and eggs as called for on brownie mix box
4 cups confectioners' (powdered) sugar
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, room temperature
2 tablespoon coffee-flavored liqueur or coffee
1 cup dark chocolate chips
3 tablespoons butter or margarine


Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with Pan Release or cooking spray.

Make brownies as directed on box, using water, oil, and eggs. Spread into pan.

Bake for 39 to 42 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from edge of pan comes out clean. Cool completely.

In medium bowl, beat cream cheese, 2 tablespoons butter and liqueur with electric mixer on high speed until smooth and creamy. Spread over cooled brownies.

In small microwaveable bowl, microwave chocolate chips and butter uncovered on HIGH 1 to 2 minutes, stirring once, until melted. Carefully spread over filling. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until set.

Additional Information

For a special touch, top each brownie bite with a chocolate-covered coffee bean.
