Almond Cream Spritz Cookies

The delicious flavor of almond and cream cheese make these a family requested delight.


5 dozen cookies


1 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1 (3 ounces) package cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated (white) sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
almonds, finely chopped


Preheat oven to 375°F (191°C).

In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and extracts. Beat until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and beat until blended. Cover and chill for 30 minutes until dough is firm but not stiff.

Fit a cookie press with the desired template and fill with dough. Press out cookies 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Sprinkle cookies with chopped almonds.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges. Cool 2 minutes on wire cooling rack. Remove cookies from baking sheet and continue to cool on wire cooling rack.
