Buttery Snowflake Cookies

A wonderful cream cheese spritz cookies flavored with cinnamon, vanilla extract and orange zest.


6 dozen (36 servings)


1 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup granulated (white) sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).

In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and egg yolk. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla extract and orange zest. Gradually add dry ingredients. Beat on low speed until blended. Fit a cookie press with the desired template and fill with dough. Press out cookies 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown on the peaks and the bottoms. Cool 2 minutes on wire cooling rack. Remove cookies from baking sheet and continue to cool on wire cooling rack.
