Chocolate Cinnamon Spritz Cookies

These cookies have the delightful blend of chocolate and cinnamon.


1/2 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1 cup granulated (white) sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 large egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
toppings to decorate


Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).

In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar and cinnamon. Mix on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk and vanilla extract. Beat well. Blend in chocolate. Add flour and salt. Mix on low speed until blended.

Fit a cookie press with the desired template and fill with dough. Press out cookies 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 6 to 9 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges. Cool 2 minutes on wire cooling rack. Remove cookies from baking sheet and continue to cool on wire cooling rack. Decorate as desired.
