Cinnamon Blossoms

These cinnamon floral cookies have a delicious chocolate kiss in the center.


5 dozen cookies


1 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
3/4 cup granulated (white) sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
60 chocolate kiss


Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).

In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, egg yolk and vanilla extract. Beat at medium speed, until the mixture is creamy. Add flour, cinnamon and salt. Beat on low speed until well mixed.

Fit a cookie press with the desired template and fill with dough. Press out cookies 1 inch apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 8 to 11 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately place 1 chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie. Cool 2 minutes on wire cooling rack. Remove cookies from baking sheet and continue to cool on wire cooking rack.
