Fresh Berry Dessert Bites

Memorial Day to Labor Day and any day in between, these cute red, white and blue treats are sweetly patriotic.

Crust Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated (white) sugar
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine, cut into tablespoon-size pieces

Topping Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 (6 ounce) container Yoplait® Original 99% Fat Free lemon burst yogurt*
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
40 fresh raspberries (about 6 1/2 ounces)
40 fresh blackberries (8 ounces)
40 fresh blueberries (about 3 ounces)


Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly-roll pan with Pan Release or baking spray with flour.

In large bowl, mix all crust ingredients except butter. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture looks like fine crumbs; press evenly in pan.

Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until edges are light golden. Cool completely, about 40 minutes.

In large bowl, beat cream cheese and brown sugar with electric mixer on low speed until blended. Add yogurt and 1 teaspoon lemon peel; beat until blended. Spread mixture over crust. Refrigerate at least 1 hour but no longer than 24 hours.

Cut into 10 rows by 4 rows. Arrange 1 of each kind of berry on each bar.

Total Time: 2 hours 40 minutes

Additional Information

For a different look, cut the bars into triangles or diamonds.

* Vanilla, raspberry or strawberry yogurt can be substituted for the lemon.
