Easy Turkey Cookies

Gobble, gobble! These melt-in-your-mouth turkeys were made for gobblin'!

Yield

1 1/2 dozen cookies

Ingredients

1 (1 pound 1.5 ounce) pouch Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/3 cup butter or margarine, room temperature
1 egg
1 (1 pound) container Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy vanilla frosting
assorted candies, if desired

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F (191°C). In medium bowl, stir cookie mix, flour, butter and egg until dough forms.

On lightly floured surface, roll dough to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut with 4 1/2-inch turkey or hand shaped cookie cutter; place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.

Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from baking sheets to wire cooling racks. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Frost and decorate with candies as desired.

Additional Information

Make a cookie cutter out of cardboard, using the outline of a child's hand to make the shape. Cut out cardboard shape, place on cookie dough and cut around cardboard.

Personalize turkeys with a child's handprint. Using decorator frosting, write the child's name on the cookie; wrap in plastic wrap and tie with ribbon.
